How to replace thermostat

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Drain coolant and remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove coolant outlet to inlet manifold attaching bolt and nut.
4. Remove coolant outlet and thermostat.

INSTALLATION

1. Install thermostat in inlet manifold.
2. Install coolant outlet to inlet manifold.
3. Install attaching bolt and nut sealer and torque to 25 Nm (18 lb. Ft.).
4. Install air cleaner assembly.
5. Refill coolant. Refer to Draining and Refilling.
6. Connect negative battery cable and torque bolt to 15 Nm ( 11 ft. Lb. ). Refer to Idle Learn Procedure.
7. Inspect for leaks.
