I have a 1992 Honda Civic 4 door and the idle is all over the place, The car starts and runs fine when cold but when it warms up if you stop the idle drops and sometimes dies, also sometimes the car overheats and then the car won't start at all, What could be the problem?
Thanks,
Matt

Do you have coolant losses issues?

The idling sped is inconsistent and most such cases are due to the IAC and throttele body being clogged with dirt. Cleaning and readjusting the components should solve the peoblem.

As to the non starting, it could be a faulty PGM-FI main relay which is known to intermittently cause stalling and inablility to restart.

Remember to check the coolant hoses to the IAC for clogging.
