where is the best place to lift the engine from

If you are working on the floor, I always use a floor jack with a 2x4 between the jack and crank pulley. Loosten the mount, lift the engine carefully, and make sure it can't move while you are working. After that, it is just a matter of unbolting and rebolting the mount.
