Thank you, why I'm asking is because the car was diagnosed with a faulty water pump, a leaking master cylinder, a leaking valve cover gasket, and a leaking distributor drive seal. After this work was completed and the car over heated the thermostat was being replaced and a blown head gasket was discovered. I am not very knowledgeable about mechanics. I believe people are as good as people can be, but I asked when the car came in what would need to be done to keep driving the car and if I should just get rid of it so I only want to know if as part of the diagnosis it should have been known to a mechanic that the head gasket had blown or if you would have to be looking at that specifically to know. Please help if you have an opinion I just really can't wrap my head around it and have already paid for everything up to the head gasket. So I'm out some serious cash and still a broken car. I accept responsibility for my actions and my decisions.
