I have a 1991 chevy s-10 pickup. Under the bed it has the spare tire held up by a metal bar from one side of the frame to the other. My question is, does this help keep the car in alignment? or is it just for holding the spare tire up. If so, can you buy another from somewhere? I don't know what its called or where i'd begin looking.

Spare tire bracket, just holds (in conjuntion with other parts) the spare tire in place. Your local friendly auto junkyard should be able to help you.
