"and the teeth on the starter are going part the fly wheel"?
I translate the above statement to mean, "I wish I had a CJ, This Bronco has my speech and thinking impaired.I wanna be like CJ MEDEVAC"
Maybe I'm not understanding stuff?
Usually Shimming a starter, means "spacing it further from the flywheel"
On Fords that would be mean spacing the starter toward the front bumper "lessening throw of the starter drive"
On Chevrolets, shimming would be downward, moving the teeth of the starter, out of the flywheel teeth. Kinda like moving it out of "Orbit", further from the center-line axis. Shimming a Chevy, usually means the teeth were crammed together and binding, and needed more space between them
Like I said, I ain't there, and I ain't understanding 'zackly what you got goin' on
But I am still here, if you need me!
Keep me posted
