My truck dies when I put it in gear. I have checked the vacuum lines. What else can the trouble be? What else can I check? It runs fine until I try to stop and then it dies. THE TRUCKS DIES WHEN I COME TO A STOP. I have checked the vacuum lines. What else can it be.

Did you check for vacuum leaks at the intake? Especially around the rear of it? Have you checked manifold vacuum?

A bad torque converter could cause it to die just like letting out the clutch on a manual transmission. Does the vehicle try to move? As far as the vacuum leaks, you checked the hoses. Did you check the intake manifold gasket for leaks? Does the engine rev when it is in park?
