What wires should I splice together to make this alternator work?

I removed my 3 wire alternator from my carbureted prelude and took my 3 wire alt plug off of the harness put in a 4 plug alt in and spliced the 4 wire plug to my 3 wire harness. Wire colors on my harness are black/yellow. Blue/white. And green/white. Those wires match up so I spliced those to the plug, but there is extra red/white wire hangin. What do I do with it? What do the colors mean and what is their function? Where should I splice the extra red/white wire to make my alternator work?

I think it was a 1989 or 1990 prelude 2.0si . All I know is that 4 pin alt is fuel injected and my car is carbed.

According to the schematics for both alternators they are not compatible, the extra wire goes to a integrated control unit that is not fitted to your earlier model.
