My sister-in-law borrowed my truck and left the lights on until the battery died. She got a jump and everything seemed fine. Then, about 10 minutes into her trip, the engine stalled. She tried getting a jump again but this time it would not work. I towed the truck home and found that the headlights, the horn, and the clock in the dash are the only things that have power. The solenoid doesn't click, the beep when you turn the key isn't there, there is no power to the gauges or dash-lights, and the taillights don't work.

Check for blown fuses. Those are common from the surge when connecting jumper cables or a battery charger. Also check if the "battery" light on the dash turns on when the ignition switch is turned to "run" but the engine is off. That is the turn-on circuit for the generator. If that isn't turning on ten minutes is about all you'll get after a jump-start before the battery is dead again.

Well so far I found a blown fusible link that went to a post on the firewall. I replaced it with a 20 amp inline fuse. The ignition had power again but then the engine didn't have any spark. I replaced the ignition control module and got spark. But now the engine only runs smooth at idle. If I give it any throttle at all the engine misses horribly and when I shut off the engine, the inline 20amp fuse will pop.

Fuse link wires are used to prevent nuisance failures from intermittent surges. A regular inline fuse will blow instantly when those surges occur. You can buy new fuse link wire at any auto parts store. They go according to gauge and color. The insulation is designed to not burn or melt. One new link will be long enough to make two or three repairs.
