What makes my car run on a few seconds after I cut it off. Also, it turns over fast when trying to start but I have to push the gas pedal about halfway down for it to crank. Otherwise it runs smooth but can you tell me why it cranks over so fast.

The most common causes are severe vacuum leaks and excessively high idle speeds.
