Hi,
First, let's scan the computer to determine if there is a sensor issue, such as a crank sensor. You don't need a scan tool for this vehicle. It has an OBD1 system and only requires a short jumper wire or even a paper clip to retrieve codes. Here is a link that shows how it's done:

Also, this could be an indication of a partially plugged fuel filter or a failing fuel pump. Here is a link that shows in general how to test fuel pressure:

Before you test pressure, see if there are codes stored. If there are, let me know what they are. If there aren't any, check the pressure.
