Replaced the entire ignition because the old key was too damaged and would no longer unlock steering wheel or even remotely turn. So got the new ignition put it in, it cranks over will not start. Am I supposed to take the new ignition and the new key to dealer to get programmed or something? Or could it be a fuel reset button that needs to be pushed or what? I am at my wits end. I just got this vehicle and have spent $500.00 just on repairs/parts already. Please help, thank you. Tammy

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

I hate to say it, but it needs programmed to work. The vehicle's immobilizer thinks the vehicle is being stolen and not allowing the engine to start.

I attached a picture of the system. The NATS needs to communicate with the vehicle's ECM.

Just for the heck of it, try this process to see if it helps. If it does not, it will require a high end scanner to be reset.

A) Turn ignition switch off.

B) Turn ignition switch on position (not start) with key. Wait five seconds.

C) Return the key to off position.

D). Repeat steps 2 and 3 twice (total of three cycles).

E). See if the engine will start.

Let me know if this helps. If it does not, it will need programmed.

Joe
