My car will not start in the cold after sitting overnight. It’s fine once jumped and I drive for a bit. I already installed a new alternator, battery, and cleaned the battery terminals, there is no corrosion. Nothing seems to fix this issue. Anything about freezing it will start fine.

Hi,

When you say it won't start, do you mean it cranks and won't start or it does nothing at all?

Let me know.

Joe

It cranks. It sounds like it’s trying to turn over but just can’t without a jump.

Make sure the ground between the battery and engine block is tight. You mentioned the battery is good, but check the other end. Also, does it start right away with a jump or is still a delayed start? When if first starts, is it smooth? Is there any smoke from the exhaust that may indicate a fuel related issue?
