The lovely Pass Key II system.

Couple questions.
When you turn on the key does the security light come on?
Does it stay on while you crank the engine?

If the light comes on and stays on it means that the key you have is either the wrong one or the more likely issue is that the wires to the key reader in the key cylinder have broken.
Or the reader pads or resister itself in the key are dirty. Use a cotton swab and some alcohol to clean those as the first item. If there is no change then it is likely the wires are broken. Then it becomes a choice, replace the cylinder with a new one or bypass the system. I cannot tell you how to bypass it but there are tons of articles and videos on the process out there.
