Has new fuel pump, new distributor cap, MAF. Wont start unless you pour fuel in throttle and it shuts off as soon as you stop. Has fuel to rail.

You have an issue in the fuel metering body. Most likely the regulator but I would suggest either taking it apart and rebuilding it or replacing it.

Review this material on your fuel delivery system and let me know what questions you have and we can go from there.

This is my neighbor truck he replaced the fuel pump when it acted up it ran for a short time then stopped he decided it had a bad mas and replaced that same thing ran for a short time stopped again he replaced the distributor because he broke the cap mount when tried to check it I rechecked the timing this morning it is okay and has spark but no start unless I spray fuel in throttle then it runs as long you keep fuel going in. Had a cam sensor code on the computer but I think that is in the distributor on this one according to the net and that is new.

Okay. Clearly if you keep it running with starter fluid or whatever, then we are not getting fuel into the combustion chamber. Assuming the fuel pump that was replaced is not the issue (you said you had fuel at the rail) then the metering body assembly is what controls the fuel. He may have had some contaminate fuel and it took out the pump. Now it is in the metering body.

Clearly we need to figure out why we are not getting fuel in the engine because when you introduce it, everything else works because the truck starts so it is not ignition related.

This thing has that spider injection in side the manifold I have never worked on that system as a old mechanic. I have not worked on this new computer driven stuff much this stuff was just starting when I quit mechanics in the 1980's went into plant maintenance. So I have very limited experience with this stuff unless I worked on my own. It did show cam sensor code on my cheap code reader but that is in the distributor. I think and it is new complete distributor s.

You are correct. The cam sensor is part of the distributor, see attached. If that code is no longer there then that issue is fixed.

Again, if you get it running with starting fluid then you have a fuel delivery issue which if it were me, I would be rebuilding or replacing the metering assembly based on what I am seeing here.

Sorry to take so long to get back on this one but neighbor had to get some other things fixed first. Then decided to junk this truck when we decided it needed a new spider injector set and the cost was too much. He decided he wanted easier to work on.
