I know my car is going to shut off when i'm driving as the lights on dash flash, so as soon as i turn it off i know it's not going to start again. i took it to my mechanic and he connected it to computer which said it was the battery, so we got a new one. then a few weeks later same problem wouldn't start. took it back he had it for 2 days letting it shut off so he could connect machine again, which then said was the alternator. so we got a new one, now a few weeks later it's dead again. any ideas?

We need to do what is called a parasitic draw test. That means we test what electrical component may be staying on, draining the battery. If the battery seems to be the issue that they keep coming back to then we need to find out why the battery keeps draining and this is the only way to do that.

I would suggest asking them if they did this test, it may also be called and IOD test. If they did, then what was the draw that they found? It should be a measurements in milliamps.
