My vehicle acted funny while driving at highway speeds. Choked and sputtered when I would hit the throttle almost like it was out of gas, but I had over half a tank of fuel. The next time I hit the gas at about sixty five mph, it completely shut off. I replaced the fuel filter on the side of the road with no better results. I can hear the fuel pump kick on, and I have fuel in the rail at decent pressure (have not checked with a gauge since I do not have one). Came home and put new spark plugs in as well, but the engine just cranks with no start.
I replaced the crank position sensor this afternoon and have not gotten a start. I realized I should have checked first for a spark, so when I checked, I found I had no spark from the coil. Would my next step be to replace the coil? Or is there somewhere else I am not looking, but should be? I am not getting any codes since I had to replace the battery part way through.
