I replaced the starter. The car started then I turned it off. Went to start it again but it just turned over. Checked the fuses, found a blown fuse [15 amp] to the ecu. Replaced with a 30 amp fuse. The engine started but I noticed smoke coming from around the starter area, turned off the engine. Checked the starter and found that the battery cable was grounding to the heat sheild. Fixed that. Checked the fuse to the ecu and it was NOT blown. Turned the engine over and will not start. I changed the 30 amp fuse back to a 15 amp fuse. Checked all other fuses and they are good. Engine turns over but will not start

Turns out if you overload the ecu circuit it overloads the crankshaft positioning sensor. That was the smoke I seen coming from the starter area.
On the initial inspection I couldn't see the wires going to the sensor. I dug a little harder around the starter and followed a wire to the block noticing the last 3 inches was bear and melted 3 wires together.
Replaced the crankshaft position sensor and the car fired right up.
