Can engine wiring harness be swapped from same year same model car if the engine size is the same? And cars features accessories are the same? My car apparently has some shorting going on in the engine wiring harness. Moving the harness causes different codes involving coil connector and map sensor shorting.
I'm looking at minimum of 6 hours labor $95.00 an hour that's my minimum. I can buy a complete harness from a wrecked caliber for $30.00. Anyone ever done this before and is it an option?
Thank you. JC

JC,

Absolutely you can. It has to be from the same year, make, and model with the same engine and transmission. Everything should be the same.

Let me know if there is something I can do to help. I did include the wiring schematics below for the powertrain management system. You can use it as a guide.

Note: The schematic was five pages long. I had to cut each pic in half to make them readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

That's super. Thanks Joe. I think that it's cheaper alternative. $30.00 verses hundreds. $300.00 minimum for trouble shooting. I'll keep you in the loop Joe. Thanks for everything. JC
