Cluster not lighting up

My instrument panel displays odometer and warning lights but the gauges are not lit up even though they are operational. I've tried self-diagnoses, disconnecting the negative terminal for half an hour, and replacing the instrument cluster with a replacement and it functions the same. Fuse tests properly and I'm all out of ideas other than to follow the wires looking for issues. Hope you can help?

Good morning,

From what I read here, it looks to me like its a loose ground wire. I would start looking at the wires under the dash. You will be looking for wires that end in a ring terminal that are bolted to metal structures under the dash (body sheet metal or tube structures). This is actually a pretty common issue on older cars. Sometimes the bolt shakes loose and it loses connection, other times the wires break away from the ring terminal and you have to crimp a new terminal to the wire(s).
