My husband just replaced the distribution cap, starter, alternator, and battery to his truck listed above, but seems to be having problems with some of the wires that were cut off. There are some wires (red, yellow, purple, light blue and dark blue) coming from the bottom of the engine and he isn't sure where they go. We looked up different ways of getting a wire code schematic for the truck but can't seem to find one for this year. The truck started but then something was touching (the wires we think) and now it doesn't start. Is there anyway of getting assistance with what the wires are for and to be on the safe side the connecting of the starter (just for safety reasons). Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I am attaching the wiring diagram for the starter but just confirm what engine you have for me. You noted it was a 2.0L V6. I assume this is a 4.3L V6?

Basically, we are going to have to get a little more info on what wires these are in order to find out where they go.

If you have cut wires on one end, then we need to trace the wires back to the other end of the harness and see what they attach too. This way we can get one end of the circuit and find out what the other end connects to.

Otherwise, we are just guessing and there are a number of different systems that use the same color wires.

Let's start with this and go from there. Thanks

Thank you for your response. As for the engine, it is a 2.8L. My husband has changed filters, spark plugs, among what I have listed before, and still not working. The engine will crank up but that's about it because it still does not start. There is also the concern of the wires that were cut by the harness and figuring out what they go to. Need help to get our truck started and running. Thanks!
