Shifter goes from R to in between R and P and have to use parking brake (which I also sent a question about because that needs adjustment. Ugh!)

Hi,

I believe I just answered your parking brake question. As far as the park issue, are you able to easily remove the key from the ignition? Also, does the key easily move in and out?

If that seems normal, then chances are it is related to the shifter cable. I attached a pic below. It shows the side of the transmission where the cable attaches. Check to make sure the cable is tight, not damaged, and is moving the lever fully in the direction of the park position.

If the cable seems damaged or stretched, let me know if you have a tilt steering wheel or not.

Let me know.

Joe

Hey joe! Yep you also answered my parking brake question. Yes I have a tilt wheel, and key does move easily in and out of ignition. Will also work on this problem this evening! Thank you so much! Again!
