Engine shutting down while driving

While driving the motor just stops the whole car stops, I put in neutral and it starts right back up. What is causing this?

Long time.

Ever change the fuel filter?

If it spits and sputters a bit before it dies (starving for fuel) that could be it. Once stopped, trash/ debris falls away from the restricted line and it will re-crank. Runs once more until the trash gets sucked in again.

Another possibility.

Do you notice hitting bumps or making left or right turns that makes it die?
