Driving in first gear in high RPM's engine shut off when shifted from first to second gear

Okay, an engine needs only three things to start and run, assuming the internal parts are in good working order, 1) fuel, 2)spark(delivered at the right time), and 3)compression. It sounds like a timing belt to me, I can tell if I hear the engine crank over, can you upload a video from our phone to our site so I can tell for sure.
