You are not supposed to charge the battery in the vehicle on these models. There is also a procedure for jump starting that would be outlined in your manual.
I would first check all of the fuses in the under hood and interior fuse boards.

If all the fuses are okay it may be that the intelligent battery management has deduced you need to replace the battery.
At this age if it has not already had a battery replacement this is likely the problem.
It is not that the vehicle won't start it's that the battery monitoring system has decided it is no longer good enough to operate the start-stop system.
You would need to run diagnostics which would be best done at a dealer. They can run the codes and test the system to see what the fault is.
There is the option to replace the battery yourself, I have attached the instructions for battery replacement which contains a reset procedure for the intelligent battery management system.
These models with the intelligent battery management and start-stop require a special battery specific for these models so ensure you get the correct battery for your vehicle.
