2004 Volvo V70 car starts then dashboard goes down

My 2004 v70 starts -then within a few seconds the dashboard goes down, power windows, ac stops but fan still works, and turn signals, etc. Don't work, the car stays on but nothing works properly- the message window says check engine or brake failure. Lots of clicking sounds from the dash board and when this happens the car drives like it's in 1st gear. Had it in the shop they hooked it up to the computer but couldn't find anything wrong.
worked fine for about a week then same problems!
help! Any ideas?

You will need to take it in to the dealership for proper diagnosis. The symptoms you are describing indicates you have a problem in the network. You could have a problem in both the high speed and low speed network. If there is a fault in both speeds then most likely the central electronic module is going bad but they would need to do some circuit measurements on the CANbus to make sure there is no wire shortin out? If the problem happens all the time that will be great but if it is intermittant it is going to take some time to figure?
