the snowflak on the dash board has an orange light . what does that mean

A "snowflake" symbol in the text window is displayed when the temperature is in the range of 23 - 36° F (-5 - +2° C).
Please note that this symbol does not indicate a fault with your car.
So what the snowflake is trying to tell you is that you need to drive safely since the roads can be icy below 36 degrees. I have only seen that come on once on my car here in Southern California and that is because I left for work at 5 in the morning ;)
