Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Volvo 850 Front Wheel Drive Manual 200000 miles

I just changed head gasket, and I found out, some lifters are compressible and some are not. Which are good and which one aren't good? A also have about two sets of used lifters from other T5 engines, and they are the same (about half are compressible and other half are not). Which ones should I use in my engine?

Thank you.

The tappets have a number inside it. Whenever you remove te tappets yo need to put them back in the same place. If you dont then you need to adjust the the lifters using the right size tappet. The only way you can do this is to have the special tools, feeler gage, and set of different size thickness tappets to adjust. You should send the head out to a machine shop to have them do what they need to do with the head repair.
