Hi
Hope I can help with this!

There are alot of pros and cons with these two different types of engines. But basically it will come down to what you need to vehicle to do.

If you are looking for good fuel comsumption, good torque and pulling power, then TDI is better suited.
However if your looking for better performance, a quiter running engine and can do without the smell of a diesel engine running, then FSI is better suited for your needs.

One thing to remember and keep in mind is that VW diesels are really reliable and are at the forefront of diesel technology. They produce great power, are really fuel efficient and have been quietened down significantly. Also VW are in the process of going away from FSI as a running process for its petrol engines. So personally and from experience, TDI's are a better choice!

Hope this helps!
