My car engine is giving white smoke and need rebuild, I want to know that what is the difference between 1.8 & 2.0 engines and can I use the assembly of 1.8 in 2.0.
And how to rebuild it with a low coast.

First, we only recommend direct fit parts. As far as rebuilding the present engine, it is hard for me to tell you a cost. It is really based on what the engine needs. If there is white smoke and that is the only problem, chances are you could get away with just replacing the head gasket.

Here in North America, the Passat did not get a 2.0L engine until 2004. That
"2.0L" engine is a TDI Diesel.

Here in North America, the 1.8L is a 1.8L Turbo Gasoline engine. Using parts
from one to fix the other will not work.

If you are somewhere else, where there is a NON Turbo 1.8L and a 2.0L gasoline
engine. Some parts can probably be swapped, but you would be better of
using parts from the exact same engine.

The quickest thing to do is to install a used engine. But you won't know how
good it runs, or how much it smokes, until after the installation.
