I have a "54" Passat Highline. A recent accident repair report showed that I have a" CV Boot on Drive Shaft" problem. Is this a serious fault? What can I expect to pay for repair?

Thank you

CV boots protect the inner tripod joint and outer CV joint (CV is constant velocity).

It boot is ripped or torn, the lubricant will leak out and eventually cause metal to metal contact in CV joint.
It will start with a clicking sound, then clunking, then eventually sieze.

Have boot replaced or complete CV axle.
