Its just the general hum of the engine which gets louder and louder. Sounds like a hole in the exhaust type of noise. Also when in 2nd gear I sometimes get a drop in pressure from the turbo so when you feel the power its a noticable drop

Hi there,

Best you check for an induction and exhaust leak, if this is affecting the boost I would be looking here first.

Hi there,

you could have a noisy tensioner bearing, but the drop in boost is in the back of my mind, to be safe get the timing belt check for wear and the bearings tested, or at least have a mechanic listen to this noise as a good mechanic will be able to pick the difference between exhaust? Induction noise & engine or bearing noise, on some turbo's if you have an induction leak after the turbo, this can sound like a noise like this, I had a similar noise with my turbo Discovery and found a crack in the inter cooler.
