2005 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 48k km miles

My 1.8t jetta has the check engine light on for the second time. It was on for 2 days and then vanished. It has reappeared 4 days later. The car runs fine other than the light on. What can the problem be?

It can be many things. The most simplist is that your gas cap isn't tight. Could also be a oxygen sensor, an engine coolant temperature sensor. Best thing to do is when is comes on again, take it to autozone or your local parts place for a free scan then get back to us with the findings
