I recently had the water pump go out. The car overheated for a while. (20 minutes). After the water was replaced I noticed that my car sounded funny. It sounded like a muffler missing on the car coming from the intake under the hood. When I accelerated using more than 4500RPMs the engine gets loud as if it is maxing out at 7000RPMs. It sounds like its getting too much air? It will sometimes hang aroun 45-50mph if I dont watch how much I push on the accelerator. The RPMs will climb, but the speed is really slow. What could this be?

Yes the timing belt was replaced. I am sure that it is off. It is hard to align it though. The crank shaft has to be aligned and so does the cam shaft. How hard is it to do this? How will I know the belt is on right since there will be a little play in it. ( One teeth or two off )
