Replaced my catalytic converter and did my 80000 mile service (replace wires, spark plugs etc) about 13 months ago. Last week, I started and drove about 0.2 miles before hitting a stop light, while waiting for the lights, it started to vibrate/tremble violently and felt it was knocking. So took it to my mechanic and found out that I needed to redo both the things that I had done 13 months ago. Since the the labor was guaranteed only for 12 months had to pay again. When I picked up my vehicle, he mentioned that I might need fuel injection flush and the coil and specifically mentioned that I would feel the same knocking/choking feeling again, if it breaksdown. Now two after, just like he mentioned, same knocking and while on idle, the cars RPM jumps up and down and my check engine light is on.

I know 13 months ago, I had to replace the o2 sensors too. But I am not sure if he replaced them the second time. Can some one tell me if the problem is the o2 sensor given that my catalytic converter died in 13 months or is it the injection flush/coil like he mentioned?

The O2 sensors last about 60,000 miles, now about the "injection flush/coil" I don't know what you're talking about, are you talking about replacing the coil? Or are you talking about cleaning out your injectors? Or are you talking about both?
