Engine Performance problem
1999 Volkswagen Jetta 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have had a vibration problem with my engine. Had it check, it was the supports (motor mount supports). About 2 and 1/2 months later it happened again, I was told it was a rod that also support the engine/motor that runs in the bottom and screws up - also acts like a support? Is there such a thing? And what is it called? I was told the only fix would be a new motor? Please help me.

Okay, the car runs. Except at stopped it vibrates. However, I did find out that there is a rod that is some how connected to the chasis? And it acts like a support. So what has been replaced are the two motor mounts that act like cushions. But this other rod thing is getting me. I just don't know what to do. Thanks so much for your help.

That rod thing is a motor mount as well. It is a different style of motor mount and could be the cause of your viberation. It supports the bottom of your engine.
