My 1995 Jetta starts but cuts out. I've tried replacing the coil and fuel pump, and cleaned out the fuel tank. I have also replaced the plugs and checked engine compression. It seems okay at 165 PSI per cyl. I have tried fuel injection cleaner in fuel with no help. Check engine light comes on as engine is stalling. I was told it needs an oxygen sensor. Could this be the problem? Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Hi there,

The first thing to do is check for set engine fault codes, this will help identify any problem with the engine management system.
