2000 Volkswagen Beetle 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 74k miles

I just purchased a used bug (gl 2.0) and drove it home. I started it the other day and it ran for 5 seconds and died? It will crank but wont start? I have check power, and don't know where to go next? any ideas?

You need to check for spark and fuel, If you don't have any it's probably the crank sensor.
