I believe the specs for the torsion arms for the 1949 to 1969 VW Beetle are the same.

I have included a list of installation procedures just in case you need them.

Thanks for using 2carpros. Com! I hope I have helped.

INSTALLATION/REMOVAL:
Jack up the car and remove the wheel and tire.
Remove the brake drum and the steering knuckle.
If the lower torsion arm is being removed, disconnect the stabilizer (sway) bar. To remove the stabilizer bar clamp, tap the wedge-shaped keeper toward the outside of the car or in the direction the narrow end of the keeper is pointing.
On Types 1 and 2, back off on the setscrew locknut and remove the setscrew. On Type 3's, remove the bolt and keeper from the end of the torsion bar.
Slide the torsion arm off the end of the torsion bar.
Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Check the camber and toe-in settings.

Thanks bluelightnin6 for the info, that was helpful. Perhaps explains why my alignment seems distorted possibly due to a mix up with the 70's model
