1969 Volkswagen Beetle

I have recently purchased this car and have found the cars suspension to be very hard on the front, not sure if it has been lowered, I wondered if it has a shock absorber problem

You probably need more than shocks. If it looks like its sagging, the torsion bars are probably fatigued. You can raise the car by turning the bars by a spline, but that may raise it too much. Not an easy job.

Old cars should have smooth sailing suspension and shocks, especially the Beetle. That's why lots of car enthusiast love this model. Check both and replace what is needed. You got a cool choice.
