The repair manual says 80 in lbs is what the valve cover bolts should be tightened to. Other people are saying that it should be snug tight plus a 1/2 or 1/4 turn. Which is it cause I do not want to mess up and tighten it up to much or not enough. Thanks

Hello, I am Danny.

I would go by the repair manual. If you torque them all to 80 in lbs you know then they will be evenly torqued. By just using your hand you run the risk of it being tighter/loose unevenly and running the risk of leaking. Most auto parts stores (PepBoys, Autozone, O'Reillys) have tool loaner programs that can rent you a torque wrench to do the job. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros. Please feel free to ask any further questions if needed. Danny-
