I can't seem to find the valve cover torque for my car. I can find instructions online how to change the gasket, but not what to torque it down to after I'm finished.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Not a problem. You came to the right place. However, you indicated this as a 1.4L. I believe you meant 1.6L because a 1.4L, to the best of my knowledge, wasn't offered.

With that in mind, here is what I have. Let me know if you need anything else.

Bolts. 5.9 Nm (52 inch lbs.)

Note: Make sure not to over tighten. The torque is in inch pounds and not foot pounds.

Let me know if I can help.

Thanks for your help Joe. Do you happen to know the sequence to use when tightening them back down? BTW, it's actually a 1.8, but thanks to a phone glitch it was entered wrong and I don't know how to change it.

Welcome back:

My manual doesn't provide the sequence. Start in the center and work in a crisscross motion. Snug them all first, and then do the final torque.

I confirmed the torque is the same for the 1.8L.

Let me know if you need anything.

Take care,
Joe
