Valve cover, what is the correct sequence to tighten the bolts?

What is the torque spec in inch pounds? Do I need to use I think it’s called gasket sealer? If so what kind? Thank you very much.

Hi,

You will need an RTV gasket maker when doing this job. It is only required at certain parts of the valve cover. Make sure all surfaces are clean and dry before you install the gasket.

If you look below, I attached the directions for the removal and replacement of the cover. The directions include torque sequence and the manufacturer's torque specifications. Additionally, it shows where to put the RTV.

The very last pic I attached is an example of the RTV you can use. I selected that because most parts stores will have that in stock.
