I recently purchased the truck listed above diesel. When I pop the hood from the inside of the truck, I cannot locate the release lever under the hood to be able to fully open the hood. Can someone please help me and give me an idea of where this is located? Obviously, I am not in Mechanic. A picture might even help. Thank you

Hi,

I attached two pics below. Pic 1 is from the manufacturer's parts book. It shows the cable going to it and the orientation of the latch itself.

If you look at pic 2, that shows the latch and the safety release. Both pics are oriented the same.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you!’ The release lever was somewhat hidden! Another question, the truck starts okay, but will shut off after idling for a few minutes. Then it won’t start again for a while. It’s like it’s not getting fuel. Should I start with the fuel filter? Purchased it sight unseen from an online auction.

Hi,

You are very welcome. As far as the other issue goes, I would be happy to help. It could be a few things causing that to happen.

However, I have a favor to ask. To make the site more beneficial to others, we try to keep the topics specific to one area of repair. So, and I feel bad asking, could you please copy your new question and upload it to a new post? Here is the link to do it:

Again, I hope you understand. I will watch for your new post.

Take care and I hope you have a great 4th of July.
