Turns over but will not start?

Replaced fuel pump after it quit running and sat for a year, was told pump was bad. My brother-in-law replaced the pump 2 years ago and the car ran good for a year. After we put another pump in we had to jump it off and t cranked up and ran until we removed cables, took battery to be checked and charged which is now good but tried again to crank and only turns over, i sprayed starting fluid around air filter to see if it would start but only turns over, one thing though, when we put battery back in it did start for about 5 seconds and now will only turn over, i wonder if it could be coolant temperature sensor. any ideas would be appreciated.

This sounds like the crankshaft angle sensor went out which is common, but we should run the codes to see what comes up.
