Recently I put in a new hybrid turbo and engine after the old turbo broke after a remap. Not the new turbo boosts late at around 3000 rpm and there is a lot of black smoke from the exhaust when the turbo spools/boosts.

The actuator and MAF sensor seem fine what else could be the issue. Could it simply need a remap once again?

It sounds like the new turbo is bad, can you check the turbine endplay to confirm? This guide can help:

Are there any codes in the car, please follow this guide as well?

The turbo just got put in recently and we've had a look at it and there's no issues with it at all. Also, it's not throwing up any codes either. Struggling to understand what the issue could be.

How did the engine run before the last turbo went bad? Does the engine have good vacuum at idle? Is the new turbo stock? If not, you may need to remap it. I would remove the spark plugs to see what they look like. You can upload the pictures in your response.

The original engine ran away when installing the new turbo. I've got another engine in now, it's a diesel car so, doesn't have spark plugs. I just checked and tried another vacuum solenoid box on the car, but it's made no difference.

It seems like everything is pointing to a bad turbo or you have a clogged exhaust system, try to undo the exhaust at a point so it can flow freely and see what happens.
