Did a tune up and installed new wires, new fuel filter, new cap, and rotor, new spark plug wires. The plugs are not new but there only year old the truck has a TBI carburetor. First, I misplaced two wires, but I think I fixed it. Now runs but smells horrible. No leaks any were.

Hi,

The first thing to do is check for codes. This has an OBD1 system that doesn't require a scanner to retrieve codes. All you will need is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip.

Follow the directions in this link and let me know if codes are found and what they are.

As far as the odor, how would you describe it? Does it have a rotten egg smell, or does it seem to smell like it's running rich? Is there any smoke from the exhaust?

Let me know which wires you are referring to. If it's the spark plug wires, I attached a pic below showing the order they should be in. Check that if you feel it's needed.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe
