I am trying to get in my trunk. My trunk release button came off so left it alone for years. Now I am ready to work on it so I go into my glove box and take it off. As I take off the glove box out I found out that my trunk release button is no longer connected to what it was supposed to be connected to. And now I do not see where the wires came off of. Please help.

Hello. I am attaching a wiring diagram below. As far as I can tell, the wiring should be hooked straight up to the button. If there is nothing there to connect the wires to, then you likely need a new button. If you can post some pictures of what you have, I might be able to tell you what is wrong with it.

Hey again. I have looked through the pictures and cannot see what the wiring diagram says to look for (pink wire with black stripe and plain black wire). When you pulled the old trunk release switch out, it should have had a connector with those two wires going to it. If the car was equipped with a trunk release button, then they have to be there somewhere.

I said the same thing, but I do not see where it unhooked itself from. When I took out glove the wires was not connected to nothing and I searched up and down the wires no opening no where, lol, a mystery. I see the wires pink and black coming out of that mint green pack.

Well, I do not know where those wires went, but they at least used to be there. You can always try rewiring the solenoid yourself. That is the part that is in the trunk which pops the trunk. It is located inside of the trunk lid, in the center of the lid. If you splice into the positive lead wire, you can run a positive wire to it which will cause it to pop (if it still works).
