Truck came up with codes P0303, P1030 and P1148. So, for the p0303 I tried switching coil pack #3 with #5 but still coming up with code p0303.

Hi Jerry,

Could you have made a mistake on the P1030? It isn't listed in two manuals for this vehicle. Additionally, they are showing it as a 4.0L V6. Please confirm.

As far as the P1148, that indicated a problem (bank 1) closed loop system. However, if you have code P1031, that is related to an air fuel mixture (O2 sensor). Those two could be tied together, but it would be odd that only one of the cylinders has the misfire rather than all three on bank 1.

Did you remove the spark plug from cylinder 3 for inspection? If so, in what condition was it?

Let me know.

Joe

Yes, it is a 4.0 and the codes are p0303,1148 and 1030. I did take out spark plug #3 and it looks good a lightish brown in color gap was good.

Hi,

I had a feeling it was either a 1031 or 1032. That is related to the bank 1 air/fuel ratio sensor.

If you look below, you will find the diagnostics related to the P1031. I suspect that if this problem is resolved, the bank one related issue will go away.

Take a look through the diagnostics and let me know if you are comfortable performing them. You will need a bidirectional scan tool that can communicate with the PCM.

Let me know.

Joe
