Hi guys thank you for reading this, so I recently finished installing my friends used trickflow intake on my 00’ gt and I installed everything as it shows in the instructions. This is not my first time installing an intake on these cars and I'm having some trouble. The car had the trickflow intake installed paired with a new 75mm throttle body as well as a bbk cold air intake. The car is misfiring and does not want to start. If it does start it idles extremely rough and at super low rpm while it backfires and smells like gas. I’ve checked the fuel rail and injectors and they seem fine. I’m not sure what is causing this and i’d like to figure it out before my dyno appointment. Thank you

Is there a chance something fell down inside the engine intake runners? I would check for vacuum leaks and then remove the spark plugs to do a compression test while you inspect the condition of the spark plugs.

Here are two guides that can help:

Check when the engine is cold only.

and

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Okay, that sounds fair. I will be trying that out. I also forgot to mention that I had to extend the wires on 3 of my connections. I used a bigger gauge wire than the wire in the car, could this be the problem? I'm not the best with electrical stuff but I was told that it did not matter if the wire was bigger, but it mattered if it was smaller. Keep in mind the wire I used was not that bigger than the one in the car.

Yes, large wires do not matter, but make sure the connections are good and the wiring is correct. If you tell me the sensor, I can get the wiring diagrams for you to make sure there is not a problem.
